Baseline Survey 2001


Baseline Survey and cohort establishment: At the time of inception of the cohort, baseline survey was conducted in the year of 2001. Data was collected through three sets of structured questionnaires [Household Questionnaire (Termed as Q1)]: To assess different socio-demographic information about the study families; Individual Adult Questionnaire (Termed as Q2): To determine different health related problems of individuals 18 years of age or older; Individual Child Questionnaire (Termed as Q3): To determine prevalence of Hepatitis and its risk factors for population less than 18 years of age). These questionnaires were duly filled up by cross-sectional survey. The selected households contained 12,734 residents (age > 18 = 9057; age <18 = 3677), who were included in the cohort and have been continuously followed since 2001.



Resurvey 2011-12


The resurvey 2011-12 was carried out according to the under mentioned protocol:

Protocol:

  • Proper identification and fixed demarcation of the existing households
  • Listing active participation list and the present status of the individuals (Expired, birth, Migration In, Migration Out-full/ partial, Not Found, Not Available, Refusal)
  • Mapping of the area where Not Found households exist
  • Selection of new household against Refusal, Not Found and Migration Out-Full [Note: New sampling will be done by BPHRF from the Not Found mapping list provided by the surveyor]
  • Filling up Resurvey Form of total household
